Key takeaways

There are four main ticket options available at Disneyland Paris: 1-day tickets, flexible-day tickets, multi-day tickets, and same-day tickets

Avoid visiting the theme park during the weekends and holidays as it gets extremely crowded, and you could miss out on the best rides

Weekdays offer the best experience and have shorter wait times. You can also use Disneyland Paris Premier Access and official queue-tracking apps to reduce your wait times for rides

Since Disneyland Paris has two amazing parks—Disneyland Park and Walt Disney Studios, it is best if you prioritize your preferences or plan a visit for at least two days

Things to know before booking tickets

It’s best to buy Disneyland Paris tickets online to save money and wait times at the ticketing counter. If you’re visiting for two days in the low season, you should buy two 1 Day-1 Park tickets and visit one Park each day. This is cheaper than buying two tickets for 1 Day-2 Parks. Ticket prices usually increase each spring; most tickets are valid for a year from the date of purchase, and it’s better to buy your ticket before an increase. You can also opt for the Disneyland Paris Annual Pass if you plan to visit the theme park for three days or more or plan on returning within the next 12 months.

Types of Disneyland Paris tickets

Based on the expected footfalls, Disneyland Paris has three types of online tickets: Mini, Magic, and Super Magic.

The Mini Ticket is Disneyland Paris’ cheapest ticket and is only available for days with less crowd.

This ticket is available exclusively online and is valid for off-season dates and same-day visits. It doesn’t include weekends and holidays.

The Magic Ticket is a same-day ticket that allows you to enter Disneyland Paris even on more high-season dates, including some weekends and holidays.

The Super Magic Ticket is the most expensive ticket option, and it allows you to visit Disneyland on all park dates available throughout the year, including all holidays and weekends.

The Disneyland Paris Super Magic ticket is valid for a year, starting from the day you purchase it. Unlike the Mini and Magic, this ticket can also be bought at the park’s ticket counters.

There are four options at your disposal for booking tickets. You can either buy:

1) 1-day fixed ticket (also known as one pre-booked day ticket)
2) Flexible-day ticket
3) Same-day ticket
4) Multiple-day ticket

All the ticket options given below are smartphone tickets. This means the ticket will be emailed to you, and at the entrance, you need to show the ticket on your smartphone screen—no printouts needed!

One-day ticket

If you know when you will be visiting Disneyland Paris, this ticket is your best choice.

If you venture into Disneyland Park first, you will enjoy thrilling rides like Big Thunder Mountain and Star Wars Hyperspace Mountain, as well as Peter Pan’s Flight.

These apart, you get to meet your favorite Disney characters for photos and autographs.

If you’ve bought a 1-day, 2-park ticket, you get to visit the Walt Disney Studios Park too, which has its fair share of adventures like the Avengers Campus and the Worlds of Pixar.

The latter brings you up and close with Pixar characters from Ratatouille, Toy Story, and Finding Nemo.

Pro tip: Stick to either Disneyland Park or Walt Disney Studios based on your preferences, as walking through two Parks can get hectic within a day.

Timings

Disneyland Paris and Walt Disney Studios are open year-round. Both parks open at 9 am, yet their closing times are 9 pm on weekdays and 10 pm on weekends.

The parks’ opening hours are subject to change, so make sure you visit the official website before planning your trip to the theme park.

Disney Village hours

Disney Village is a shopping, dining, and entertainment complex in Disneyland Paris. It opens at 7.30 am and closes at midnight every day.

Access to Disney Village is free, and visitors can roam around this area of the theme park for shopping, cinema, dancing, live shows, restaurants, etc., till midnight.

What is ‘Extra Magic Time’

Disneyland Paris Extra Magic Hour PassPin

Extra Magic Time, or the MagicPass, is an exclusive benefit for guests staying at select Disneyland Paris hotels.

This perk allows MagicPass card holders early access to Disneyland Park from 8.30 am to 9.30 am, an hour before the park opens to the general public.

During this time, you can enjoy selected attractions with minimal queues and a more intimate park experience.

You also get privileged access to Disney characters for photos and autographs, enhancing the magic before the day’s rush begins.

Rush hours at Disneyland Paris

Disneyland Paris is less crowded from Monday to Friday. The waiting time is generally 10 to 15 minutes for popular attractions, and 5 minutes for other attractions.

The theme park gets its highest footfalls on Saturdays, and visitors usually end up waiting 45 to 90 minutes for some of Disneyland Paris’ most popular rides.

Interestingly, Sundays are less crowded than Saturdays: You can access popular rides within 15 to 30 minutes at times and moderately popular ones in less than 15 minutes.

Capitalizing on opening and closing time

Although the Parks and attractions open at 10 am, the turnstiles are open from 9.30 am onward.

You can use this half an hour to enjoy the Parks and get in line to enjoy the rides before others do.

Certain shows and firework displays happen post-closing time. Hence, make sure you are inside the park before the authorities close the turnstiles.

Some shops on Main Street USA (Disneyland) and the ‘Front Lot’ (Walt Disney Studios) remain open for a limited time even after the Parks have closed.

Did you Know?
There are hundreds of ‘Hidden Mickeys’ scattered throughout Disneyland Paris. These subtle silhouettes of Mickey Mouse are integrated into the design of attractions, hotels, and the landscape.

How to avoid Disneyland Paris’ queues

Crowd at Disneyland ParisPin

There are two places at Disneyland Paris that are usually crowded up with queues—the ticket counters and the rides. Here are some insights on how to avoid these queues.

Ticket counter queues

The best way to avoid long lines at Disneyland Paris is by purchasing your tickets online in advance.

Apart from saving your time, online tickets tend to be cheaper as they don’t include the ticketing window surcharge.

If you still prefer buying tickets at the park, arrive before 10 am to beat the crowds.

The Disneyland Paris lines start swelling up after 10 am and peak between 11 am and 11.30 am.

For shorter queues, you can try the ticket counter at Walt Disney Studios instead of Disneyland Park; the latter always has the biggest queues.

Park ride queues

To avoid the long lines at Disneyland Paris, we suggest you plan your visit on lean days (Tuesdays-Thursdays) between mid-January to mid-March or mid-April to mid-May.

These quieter times mean shorter queues and more ride time.

You can also opt for the Disneyland Paris’ Premier Access System, which gives you instant access to popular attractions like Indiana Jones, Space Mountain, Buzz Lightyear Laser Blast, and more.

We also recommend downloading the Disneyland Wait Times app for real-time updates. It tracks ride wait times so you can avoid the busiest lines and make the most of your day!

Besides the Premier Access, Disneyland Paris also has PhotoPass and Standby Pass. While the PhotoPass helps you download all photos taken at the attraction, the Standby Pass helps you better manage your time by reserving time slots for virtual queues.

Best time to visit Disneyland Paris

Disneyland being the place it is, one could argue that anytime is the best time to visit Disneyland Paris, and they wouldn’t be wrong!

In fact, the best time to visit Disneyland Paris depends on what you want out of your visit to the happiest place in the World.

That being said, we suggest visiting the attraction on weekdays and during the off-season to indulge in all the rides and facilities. These become a luxury during the peak and holiday seasons.

Visiting Disneyland Paris on a budget

If you are on a tight budget, the best time to visit this Disney marvel just outside of Paris is during the off-season, as ticket prices and hotel fares are comparatively low.

Another way to save costs is by staying in Paris and traveling to Disneyland Paris instead of opting for a Disney Hotel.

Best time to visit the Park for parades

One of the best times to visit Disneyland Paris for parades would be at 5.30 pm each day. That’s when ‘Stars on Parade’ starts, and its itinerary is updated weekly.

It begins in Fantasyland near the Small World avenue and ends at Town Square at 6 pm.

When the park hours are shorter (off-season), the parade usually starts at 5 pm.

If you want to see something more extravagant, visit Disneyland Paris on special days like Christmas and New Year’s Eve.

When NOT to visit Disneyland Paris

Avoid visiting Disneyland Paris on Martin Luther King Jr Day, President’s Day (February 15 to 24), Spring break (March 21 to April 7), Easter weekend, Weekends in May, Mid-June through Aug 12, the week of Thanksgiving, and the period from Christmas week till the second week of the New Year.

How many days do you need to visit Disneyland Paris?
Most visitors spend two days at Disneyland Park and one day at Walt Disney Studios Park. If you have only a day, we suggest you skip Disneyland Studios Park and visit Disneyland Park.

Where is Disneyland Paris?

Disneyland Paris is an entertainment resort in Marne-la-Vallée, a new town located 32 km east of Paris.

The fastest way to get to Disneyland Resort Paris from the capital is to take the RER A train.

Due to its distance from Paris, tourists who want to visit Disneyland Paris have two options—stay at one of the Disney hotels within Disneyland Paris or stay in Paris and travel to the attraction.

Most tourists opt to stay in Paris and travel to Disneyland Paris. The two primary reasons behind these are:

1. There is so much to see in Paris as well
2. Disney hotels can be costly

There is, hence, a massive demand for Disneyland Paris coach tours that take tourists from the city to the theme park.
