Epic Universe, Universal Orlando Resort’s upcoming theme park, will redefine theme park experiences with cutting-edge attractions, immersive lands, and thrilling rides.
Slated to open on 22nd May 2025, this park will be the fourth at Universal Orlando, alongside Universal Studios Florida, Islands of Adventure, and Volcano Bay.
Unlike other theme parks clustered together near Universal CityWalk, Epic Universe is located a few miles south of the existing Universal Orlando Resort properties.
This guide covers everything you need to know about reaching the park from different locations, including CityWalk, other Universal theme parks, hotels, public transport, and by car.
Where is Epic Universe located?
Situated at South Kirkman Road and Universal Boulevard, near the Orange County Convention Center, Epic Universe will require different transportation options compared to the other Universal parks.
📍 Address: Florida 32819, United States. Get directions.
The park is approximately 4 miles (6.4 km) from Universal Studios Florida, 5 miles (8 km) from Volcano Bay, and 12 miles (19.3 km) from Walt Disney World.
For travelers coming from Orlando International Airport (MCO), the distance is around 15 miles (24 km).
Due to this separation, visitors must plan their transportation ahead of time to ensure a smooth journey.
How to get to Epic Universe?
From CityWalk and other Universal parks
Universal has announced dedicated transportation options to make traveling between Epic Universe and its existing parks seamless. Here’s what visitors can expect:
Shuttle buses
- Universal will offer free shuttle buses for guests staying at Universal Orlando Resort.
- These shuttles will run between CityWalk, Universal Studios, and Islands of Adventure, ensuring easy access to Epic Universe.
- Travel time is around 10-15 minutes.
Rideshare services (Uber/Lyft)
- A rideshare trip from CityWalk to Epic Universe takes about 10 minutes.
- Cost is between $8-$12, depending on demand.
While walking is not a feasible option due to the 4-mile distance, biking may be possible, but the roads are not pedestrian-friendly, making shuttles or rideshare services the best choices.
From hotels
Many Universal Orlando hotels will have direct shuttle connections to Epic Universe, making travel convenient for hotel guests.
Major hotels such as Loews Sapphire Falls, Hard Rock Hotel, Aventura, and Cabana Bay will likely offer complimentary shuttle services that run every 15-30 minutes.
For visitors staying at nearby off-site hotels along International Drive or Kirkman Road, some accommodations may provide free or paid shuttle services.
If no shuttle service is available, taking an Uber or Lyft ride for $8-$15 is a quick and easy alternative.
From public transport
Orlando’s public transportation options are limited, but there are still ways to reach Epic Universe without a car.
LYNX Bus System
- Operates several routes around International Drive and Universal Boulevard
- Routes may be adjusted to serve Epic Universe upon its opening
- Fares around $2 per ride or $4.50 for an all-day pass
I-RIDE Trolley
- A popular transport option for tourists, primarily serving International Drive
- Due to Epic Universe’s proximity to I-Drive, the I-RIDE Trolley may extend its route to include the park
- Fares around $2 per ride or $5 for an all-day pass
While public transport is an affordable way to reach Epic Universe, keep in mind that service may be limited.
For faster and more convenient options, consider Universal’s shuttle services or rideshare apps like Uber and Lyft.
Reaching Epic Universe by car
For those who prefer to drive, Epic Universe is accessible via major highways.
From Downtown Orlando:
Visitors traveling from I-4 East (Downtown Orlando) should head south on Orange Avenue, merge onto I-4 W. Take Exit 74A (Sand Lake Road) turn right, turn left onto Universal Boulevard, then right onto Epic Boulevard.
From Orlando International Airport (MCO):
The best route is via FL-528 W to Universal Boulevard. Then, merge onto I-4 N, then take Exit 74A (Sand Lake Road). Turn right onto Sand Lake Road, left onto Universal Boulevard, drive 1 mile, then turn right onto Epic Boulevard.
Finally, follow the signs to parking.
Parking at Universal’s Epic Universe
Universal’s Epic Universe will have its own dedicated parking lot, separate from other Universal Orlando parks. The parking facility is located at:
📍 1001 Epic Boulevard, Orlando, FL 32819
This dedicated lot ensures convenient access to the park, eliminating the need for long shuttle rides from the CityWalk parking garages.
Unlike the multi-level garages at Universal Studios and Islands of Adventure, Epic Universe will feature an open-air parking lot.
While this lot is designed for efficiency, there may be concerns about space during peak seasons. Visitors are encouraged to arrive early to secure a spot.
The standard self-parking fee is expected to be around $32, with preferred parking costing approximately $60.
